This steam room was conceived as a prototype for a portable wellness structure, engineered to perform in any environment. Its debut was at Burning Man, where it provided a serene and rejuvenating oasis in the harsh conditions of the Nevada desert. Designed with durability and transportability in mind, the structure withstood extreme wind, heat, and dust while delivering a consistently immersive experience.The material palette supports both resilience and ambiance: dark tile flooring conceals wear from repeated use, while a matching ceiling creates spatial unity and intimacy. Light-tiled walls with black joints bring contrast and visual clarity, preventing the enclosure from feeling too heavy. Together, these elements form a space that is practical, inviting, and deeply restorative.
